General -
Established as Archer County seat in 1880. In early years
was retail and shipping center for area ranches. Shallow
oil wells drilled in 1920’s still contribute to area
economy.
Archer County Historical
Museum -
Frontier and pioneer items;
pictures, ladies’ hightop shoes, dairy and far
implements. Open weekends Apr. - Nov. Housed in old jail,
400 W. Pecan. Museum has map of county’s historic
sites.
